Travelling Light, Blazing new trails: CNM creative music day 10th May 2012

Colchester New Music Presents

 Travelling Light, Blazing new trails

SCAW with Chrissie Caulfield, 5 string acoustic and electric violin

Following on from last years performances at the Headgate Theatre and Swinburne hall at the Colchester Institute, this year Scaw (Sarah WattsBass Clarinet and Antony Clare piano) are augmented with Chrissie Caulfield, an exponent of the 5 string acoustic and electric violin. Utilising an extensive range of effects usually reserved for some of the most experimental guitarists, Chrissie is able to obtain complex, evolving textures, incredibly powerful, blistering solos and sweet melodious lines. This is another unique opportunity to experience something outside of the conventional box of contemporary classical music and hear the true potential of what ‘new music’ can offer. Stuart Russell will also be diffusing electronics.

In addition Sarah andAntonywill be playing some of their own repertoire and new music by CNM members Alan Parsons, Stuart Russell,Alan Bullard, Laurence Glazier,Colin Blundell, Mark Bellis and new member Jenni Pinnock
