Penrose tiling

The interlinked rose shapes can each represent a pitch centre (or any other musical aspect), with movement from a centre outwards, further distances representing greater change; the outward motion could also be, for instance, a spiral. The internal structure of each ‘rose’ shape (the blue and green tiles) can also be assigned a musical meaning.
